When the wild calls…answer it! There are so many great opportunities to get outside for bucket-list experiences. We’ve rounded up four great outdoor adventures every guy should have before he turns 30. Start with one and get going!
Kayak off Hawaii’s Kona Coast. The Big Island offers amazing sea kayaking, with many remote coves featuring some of the world’s best scenery. Paddle along the tranquil waters of Kealakekua Bay and catch sight of spinner dolphins, or even whales. Then jump in to snorkel some of the most pristine reefs you’ll ever see, teeming with colorful marine life.
Biking in Glacier National Park, Montana. Bicycling on Going-to-the-Sun Road is definitely one of the most exhilarating ways to increase your heart rate, and gives you a totally unique vantage to seeing Glacier National Park. The views are not only amazing, but they also spike your adrenaline when you see how close you are to dropping off the side of the Earth.
Rafting the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more awe-inspiring stretch on the planet. Towering technicolor rock walls make for a stunning backdrop to incredible rapids. This is a full-on vacation though—plan to be gone for up to a week, and you’ll dole out a pretty penny.
Backpack the Pacific Crest Trail. This winter, the movie Wild will open starring Reese Witherspoon. It’s the true tale of a young woman who launches herself onto a path of self-discovery, all the while hiking this storied trail. The imagery will be sure to inspire—whether you hike this trail for a day or a month, it’s life-changing.
